FLOREAT MEDICAL cares about your mental health and well-being.
This year more than ever, we rely on each other to stay connected, be sensitive to how others are thinking and feeling, and support each other in a natural spontaneous way.
The theme for WA Mental Health Week 2020 is:
“Strengthening Our Community – Live, Learn, Work, Play”
We can boost the mental well-being of our community by
- Encouraging each of us to support and look out for one another
- Promoting mental health literacy (understanding) and self-care tips
- Raising awareness of mental health issues and reducing stigma associated with seeking support
There are many events going on in Perth and country WA and a full list can be found here.
Every day at FLOREAT MEDICAL everyone from our reception staff, admin staff, nurses and doctors, are sensitive to your needs.
At 10 am on Wednesday 17 October 2020, the staff and doctors at Floreat Medical will hold a “Mental Morning Moment”.
Coffee, tea, cupcakes will be shared with an opportunity to talk openly about our own mental health and wellbeing. Our team is always encouraged to continue creating an inclusive and fair, caring and supportive work environment. If you are in the waiting room, you are welcome to please join in!
If you have any worries about your own mental health or that of a loved one or friend, or if you aren’t quite feeling yourself, or are having trouble coping, then perhaps it is time to discuss this with a GP. Call Floreat Medical and book a long appointment so that you have time to talk and share how you feel with the doctor. Your GP will listen, understand, and help guide you to feeling and thinking better. Medicare rebates for referred services to psychologist are available through your GP under a GP Mental Health Care Plan.
