Kent grew up in Western Australia and graduated from UWA in 1993. Kent has worked throughout regional WA and has a wide range of interests and experience in medicine including:
- Skin conditions and skin cancer procedures
- Occupational medicine, Aviation medicine, Recreational Scuba diving
- Complex health care
- Chronic pain and Chronic fatigue
- Child health and Aged Care
- Sports Medicine
